• Many Mandolins at The Met Museum

Each season we go behind the scenes with an artist as they prepare to make their Carnegie Hall debut. This season we're following mandolinist Avi Avital on the  journey to his January 17 recital debut in Weill Recital Hall.

In this, the second video in our series, we follow Avi to The Metropolitan Museum of Art's André Mertens Galleries for Musical Instruments where Curator J. Kenneth Moore and Associate Curator Jayson Kerr Dobney share their insight into the mandolin's evolution and many forms.
